National Art School

The National Art School in Darlinghurst is located in a complex of historic buildings built between 1822 and 1885. Until 1914 the buildings were the site of Darlinghurst Gaol. The National Art School has occupied the site since 1995.Two of the original cell blocks had been modified to be a library and an exhibition hall and required access to the upper floor.

Laser Building Services Pty Ltd was contracted by NSW Public Works to construct the new lift structures and carry out the necessary modifications to the existing buildings for this purpose.
